New Members

Expectations for Church Membership

1) To be a member of Pine View Baptist one must first be a born-again believer. That is one who has accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. A born-again believer is one who strives to:
a.) Die to Self (Matthew 16:24-25)
b.) Have a renewed mind (Romans 12:1-2)
c.) Live their new life in Christ (II Corinthians 5:17)

2) Follows the Lord in Believer’s baptism. We believe that baptism always follows conversion and it isn’t baptism that saves us, but baptism is a living picture of what Jesus has done in our heart. It is a public declaration of your faith in Christ.

To help accomplish the above:
We require each prospective member to attend new member training which includes:
a.) One session with the Pastor who goes over our vision as a church, goals and service opportunities. Answering questions of prospective members.
b.) Three sessions of new member training that goes over five disciplines of the new believer. All of these sessions are taught during our regular Sunday School hour from 9:30-10:20 a.m.

***After a prospective member has become a born again believer followed through in believers baptism and gone through the first two sessions of new member training they are candidates for membership of Pine View Baptist Church. But, we do encourage them to continue in the last two sessions of new member training.
